From F-16 operations to Caterpillar operations

Kelly Orr (MS T’00) has spent a lifetime traveling around the world. She grew up in Connecticut, but she’s traveled in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, South America, and various corners of North America.

When Orr decided to earn a master’s degree, she enrolled in the Purdue College of Technology weekend master's program to study industrial distribution. At the time, she was the only female in the program.

In the news: school cyber attacks increasing

Marcus Rogers, professor of computer and information technology, spoke with Education Week this week for a story about cyber attacks on school networks.

"For a lot of these attacks, the intended victim or goal is something bigger than the school," Rogers said. "Obviously schools want to protect their data, but the bigger threat is when they use those networks now to go out and attack a power plant or a stock exchange or an air traffic control systems."
