A College of Technology partnership with a Peruvian university is expanding from annual exchange trips to the creation of a new engineering curriculum.
In January 2012, the leaders of TECSUP asked the College of Technology to help them create a new university, focused on applied engineering, that would help South American residents complete their five-year engineering degrees. The new University of Engineering and Technology will be known as UTEC.
The College of Technology has a new Web site, launched on July 15. In addition to a new look and a more robust structure, it is designed to be viewed on any platform -- desktop, mobile phone or tablet.
The other big change is the structure of the information. It is more degree focused, providing faster information to prospective and current students about their academic interests and requirements.
Other features include:
Students at Purdue's College of Technology at South Bend will soon have the opportunity to complete industry-sponsored senior projects for companies in the Michiana community.
Several new faculty and staff join the College of Technology this fall or started their new positions earlier in the year. They include:
During June 2013, the College of Technology received external funding that totaled $928,215.80.
Faculty who received funding (all are principal investigators unless otherwise noted) were:
