The third annual Purdue Aviation Day took place Saturday (April 22) at the airport. Visitors walked, drove, and flew in for the event. Attendees were treated to several static display aircraft, an aviation history exhibit, exhibitor booths and a special “Little Aviators Club” for the youngest aviation enthusiasts. Les Abend, captain for American Airlines, aviation analyst for CNN and a Purdue Polytechnic distinguished alumnus, spoke to attendees. Ian Kirby, aircraft engineer and former pilot for British Airways, also spoke regarding his aviation experiences.
PSA Airlines was this year’s Presenting Sponsor. Gold Sponsors were GoJet, SkyWest, Piedmont Airlines, Horizon Air and Cirrus Aircraft. Silver Sponsors were Endeavor Air, who provided the hospitality tent, as well as ExpressJet and Republic Airline.
