Purdue grad savors special effects, animation

Brandon Clements started early drawing his own comic book panels, fiddling with images on the computer and absorbing movies with explosive special effects — the more sparks, smoke and surprises, the better.
The interests shaped his route through high school and solidified his decision four years ago to major in computer graphics technology, using a full-ride Lilly Foundation scholarship to attend Purdue College of Technology in New Albany.

The 22-year-old from rural Washington County will blast off on what he hopes is a rocket-propelled career path. He may land in London, Los Angeles or Vancouver.
