Purdue Polytechnic in New Albany honors class of 2024-25 at commencement ceremony

Purdue Polytechnic in New Albany celebrated its class of 2024-25 graduates on Thursday, May 15, during a commencement ceremony held at 6:00 p.m. in the Richard K. Stem Concert Hall. The event recognized the accomplishments of students earning Bachelor of Science degrees across diverse technological fields.

Strategically positioned at the crossroads of the I-265 and Charlestown Road interchange, Purdue Polytechnic New Albany serves as a hub for technological education in Southeast Indiana, providing students access to Louisville's thriving tech scene and numerous job and internship opportunities.

The ceremony featured an address to the candidates by Indiana State Representative Ed Clere, offering words of encouragement and insight to the graduating class.

The evening began with a processional, followed by "The Star-Spangled Banner" performed by Kyle Logan Henson, a Purdue Polytechnic alumnus (BS Mechanical Engineering Technology ’21). Joseph F. Dues, Jr., Director of Purdue Polytechnic New Albany and Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology, delivered the welcome and introductory remarks.

Raeanna Brezina, a Bachelor of Science recipient in Mechanical Engineering Technology, delivered the class response, sharing reflections on behalf of her fellow graduates.

Director Dues presided over the presentation of the class and the conferral of degrees. John C. Finnegan, Associate Professor of Computer Graphics Technology, introduced the individual graduates. Director Dues also welcomed the new alumni into the Purdue Alumni Association and provided graduate recognition and closing remarks.

The graduating class received degrees in fields including Computer Graphics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, and Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Purdue Polytechnic New Albany, part of a statewide system of nine locations, emphasizes hands-on learning and industry-relevant education, preparing graduates for immediate employment and career growth in various sectors.
