Two graduate student teams in Purdue Polytechnic's School of Aviation and Transportation Technology won the University Aviation Association's 2017 poster contest. Each year, the association's professional development committee coordinates a virtual poster contest, providing both graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to publish and share their research findings.
Shuyao Wu, Ting Xu, and Cheng Wang won first place in the graduate category for the poster "Sources of Psychological Stress on Student Pilots during Flight Training."
Flavio A. C. Mendonca won second place in the same category for the poster "A Flight Crew Guide to the Mitigation of Bird Strikes to Aircraft: A Case Study."
The students are studying under Richard O. Fanjoy, associate professor and associate head for graduate studies.
