Anderson OLS students to assist local Impact Center

As part of a new partnership, students from Purdue University College of Technology at Anderson will help the Anderson Impact Center (AIC) develop its technology workshops and connections between employers and AIC clients.

Students enrolled in Organizational Leadership and Supervision 46700 (Service Learning) will help develop and deliver basic computer and technology workshops for AIC. They hope to make AIC’s clients more comfortable with technology and also more competitive in the job market.

The first workshops should be available in March.

CoT students create play area for local Boys and Girls Club

Area youth who take advantage of programs at the Lyn Treece Boys and Girls Club have a new playground area thanks to students at Purdue’s College of Technology (CoT) at Lafayette. As part of CoT’s OLS 46700 Service Learning course, the college students transformed an empty lot into a safe and fun place for kids to play.

The project was partially funded by the Community Service Student Grant Program, facilitated by Purdue’s Office of Engagement. Additional support came from Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Wabash National, Oerlikon Fairfield and Kohl’s.
