Lybrook instrumental in Leadership cohort
Daniel L. Lybrook not only was instrumental in creating our Weekend Master of Science program for Leadership, but also has taught multiple courses in the program for every cohort. When not helping ProSTAR, Lybrook is an associate professor in the Department of Technology Leadership & Innovation. He is a pure Boilermaker, having earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Purdue University.
Anderson OLS students to assist local Impact Center
As part of a new partnership, students from Purdue University College of Technology at Anderson will help the Anderson Impact Center (AIC) develop its technology workshops and connections between employers and AIC clients.
Students enrolled in Organizational Leadership and Supervision 46700 (Service Learning) will help develop and deliver basic computer and technology workshops for AIC. They hope to make AIC’s clients more comfortable with technology and also more competitive in the job market.
The first workshops should be available in March.
CoT students create play area for local Boys and Girls Club
Area youth who take advantage of programs at the Lyn Treece Boys and Girls Club have a new playground area thanks to students at Purdue’s College of Technology (CoT) at Lafayette. As part of CoT’s OLS 46700 Service Learning course, the college students transformed an empty lot into a safe and fun place for kids to play.
The project was partially funded by the Community Service Student Grant Program, facilitated by Purdue’s Office of Engagement. Additional support came from Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Wabash National, Oerlikon Fairfield and Kohl’s.
Alum’s RFID project named best in 2012
Maryanne Flynn, director of operations at Cisco Systems, says that her courses and team-leading experiences at Purdue helped prepare her to lead a team to implement radio-frequency identification (RFID), which resulted in a prestigious award.
Two Technology graduates featured in Alumnus magazine
Two Technology alumni are featured in the latest edition of the Purdue Alumnus, the official alumni magazine for the University.
Jim Rio (OLS ’04) was one of two alumni honored Sept. 29 as the 2012 Outstanding Young Alumni.

Purdue University's summer commencement ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 4 at the Elliott Hall of Music.
Brittany Allensworth, an organizational leadership and supervision major from Indianapolis, who is completing her bachelor's degree in the College of Technology, will provide the student response.
