Christy Tollett has been named the student services coordinator for Purdue University College of Technology at Richmond.

Christy Tollett

Tollett will oversee all admissions and student services for the Purdue University College of Technology programs in Richmond.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in mathematics and master’s degrees from Ball State University in counseling psychology and guidance services and student affairs administration in higher education.  She will be filling the role left vacant by Michael Swain, who was recently named director of the Richmond location.

“Purdue University and the region are incredibly fortunate to have a person with Christy’s experience, credentials, and sense of community to be in such a key role of connecting local students with a convenient, affordable Purdue University education. She genuinely wants to make a difference in the lives of others and can do so here,” Swain said.

Tollett has been the head of guidance at Centerville High School, where she helped earn the school an Indiana Gold Star School Counseling Award and the American School Counselor Association’s Recognized ASCA Model Program Award. She was named the Centerville-Abington School District’s Educator of the Year in 2009.  Prior to that, she was a mathematics teacher.  She is also involved in numerous community activities, including 21st Century Scholars, Wayne County College Success Coalition and Community In Schools, and Partnership for a Drug-Free Wayne County.

Purdue University offers degrees in three different engineering technologies, computer graphics, and organizational leadership through its Richmond location.  They are located in Tom Raper Hall on the campus of Indiana University East.
