Polytechnic students published in 5th edition of Cornerstone Review

Four students from Purdue’s Computer and Information Technology (CIT) program were recently recognized for their creative and academic achievements in the latest edition of the Cornerstone Review, a journal dedicated to showcasing student writing, video, and artwork.

The following students contributed to this prestigious publication:

  1. Oluwatobi Olugbenga, a Cybersecurity major, wrote an essay titled “Mongolian Legacy, American Future.” Oluwatobi’s work originated in Professor Li Wei’s SCLA 101 (Transformative Texts I) course during the Fall 2023 semester.
  2. Elena Viazzo, a Data Analytics major, crafted the short story “A Conversation with Federico Fellini” while enrolled in Professor Li Wei’s SCLA 101 course in Fall 2023.
  3. Michael Wong, majoring in Cybersecurity, contributed the fictional piece “The Story of Sheba” from his time in Professor Huiying Chen’s SCLA 101 class in Spring 2024.
  4. Sam Hicks, also a Cybersecurity major, composed the original music piece “Rock, Ruin, Redemption” as part of Professor Claire Mason’s SCLA 102 (Transformative Texts II) class in Fall 2024.
