Program Description

Entertainment graphics industry in India is fast growing and has gained global recognition through several award-winning animated series and games, that are influenced by the rich traditions and culture of the Indian subcontinent. This course provides students with an opportunity to travel to India and be a part of the day-to-day activities of the Indian animation and gaming studios.

 

This course provides an opportunity for students to interact with the leading professionals in their workplace. The study abroad experience aims at inculcating cultural competencies in students that include elements of self-awareness, knowledge of cultural worldview frameworks and openness to learn more about the nuances of developing culturally authentic stories in the Indian context. The outcome of the program is for students to contemplate over their own cultural identities and apply these competencies in their professional practices.

 

Tentative Program Itinerary

Day 0: Depart from United States (May 11th)

Day 1: Arrival in India, Accommodation Check-in & Meet-up

Day 2 – Day 5: Daily industry visit to Studio 1 / educational institution’s studio

Day 6: Local activities in Mumbai + Transit to Hyderabad

Day 7 - 9: Local Activities in Hyderabad

Day 10 – Day 13: Daily industry visit to Studio 2 / educational institution’s studio

Day 14: Check-out, pre-departure meeting, Departure (May 25th)
