Dr. Farid El Breidi is an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Purdue University, where he specializes in Extended Reality (xR), Engineering Education, and Fluid Power Modeling and Simulation. His interdisciplinary expertise bridges the gap between emerging digital technologies and traditional engineering practices, with a focus on enhancing learning experiences and industry applications.
Dr. El Breidi earned his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the American University of Beirut in 2010, a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2012, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Purdue University in 2016.
As the Principal Investigator (PI) for numerous research initiatives, Dr. El Breidi leads projects that push the boundaries of technology integration in engineering applications and education. His work has garnered significant support from national organizations, including the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA). These projects span a range of topics, from developing innovative Extended Reality modules for educational purposes to advancing fluid power systems through cutting-edge digital technologies.
