Because color is such an essential part of our identity, Purdue’s Office of Marketing and Communications developed color palettes that support the University’s core gold and black colors for all materials produced at the University. The Primary Palette includes Boilermaker Gold and Smokestack Black. There are two palettes of supporting colors:

  • Gold-Supporting Palette: Aged, Rush, Field and Dust comprise an expanded range of gold-inspired colors
  • Black-Supporting Palette: Steel, Cool Gray, Railway Gray and Steam are a range of black-inspired tones to provide support and flexibility
