Ph.D. research assistant positions with full financial support are available in the SIMU Lab. The admitted students are expected to work with Dr. Chengcheng Tao.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other closely related fields.
- Strong background in mathematics/mechanics, solid programming skills
- Students with publication records/research experience are preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills and strong self-motivation

Interests in one or more of the following areas:
- Computational construction materials (computational fluid dynamics of non-Newtonian fluids, multi-phase flow, heat transfer, multi-scale modeling, and finite element analysis)
- Sustainable and resilient infrastructure to natural hazards
- Artificial intelligence in civil engineering (optimization/machine learning algorithms)
