PLTW Profile: Justin Myers

Justin Myers, assistant principal of Maconaquah Middle School, graduated from Purdue University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in computer integrated manufacturing technology (CIMT). He began his career in the technology sector but soon realized that his job lacked the social interaction aspect of working with people that he enjoyed. He returned to Purdue to combine his tech talents with his people skills and graduated with a second bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology teacher education (ETTE).

TECHFIT program expands computational thinking research into new contexts

Alka Harriger, professor of computer and information technology, and Brad Harriger, professor of mechanical engineering technology, partnered with other faculty in the creation of professional development programs in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) for middle school teachers and new research into the development of computational thinking among middle school students across three learning contexts.

Six teams to compete at Purdue in 2018 midwest Nanoline automation contest

An automated disk jockey for school dances, a tomato harvesting system and a voting machine which prevents fraud are among the student design projects competing in the 2018 Midwest Regionals of the Phoenix Contact Nanoline Contest on Saturday (February 3). The public is invited at 11:30 a.m. to view the projects.
