Congresswoman visits Purdue Polytechnic Anderson
Susan W. Brooks, member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana’s 5th district, visited Purdue Polytechnic Anderson’s new facility Monday (April 17). The congresswoman toured academic areas as well as the Maker Space, an area for fostering start-up companies.
Brooks noted the facility’s 3-D printing lab, CNC (computer numerical control) machines, metalworking equipment, and other tools available to students and entrepreneurs.

The National Science Foundation has awarded research grants to Colin Gray, assistant professor of computer graphics technology, to study “dark patterns,” the name given to user experience (UX) design practices in which the designer uses knowledge of human behavior and the desires of end users to intentionally manipulate them into actions not in their best interest.

John McDonald, chief executive officer of ClearObject, an Internet of Things (IoT) systems innovation company, has been appointed to the Purdue Polytechnic Dean's Council.
