Techies Today, the Purdue Polytechnic Podcast, features conversations with Polytechnic faculty, staff and students, plus alumni and friends of the college. It’s easy to listen to episodes on mobile devices (including phones and tablets) and on the web. Here’s how.
How to listen on a mobile device while walking or driving
Techies Today episodes are available on Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music, iHeartRadio, Podbean, Spotify, Stitcher, and TuneIn. Download one of these apps on your mobile device, search for “Techies Today,” and subscribe (it’s free) to be notified each time a new episode is published.
Once subscribed to the podcast via an app on your mobile device, listen with headphones while you’re out and about — or listen while driving if your smartphone is connected to your vehicle’s audio system. Just start playing the podcast rather than music from your phone.
How to listen on an Alexa-enabled device
Try saying, “Alexa, play Techies Today on Apple Podcasts.” If your Apple ID is linked to your Alexa app, you could also continue listening to an episode on an Alexa-enabled device at the point you stopped listening to that episode in Apple Podcasts. Just say: “Alexa, resume playing Techies Today on Apple Podcasts.”
Alternately, try saying, “Alexa, play Techies Today on TuneIn.”
How to listen on the web
On the Techies Today main page, look for the Episode Guide, find the episodes you’d like to hear, and click the link for each episode’s specific page. An embedded player is on each episode page.
