Program Description

The focus of this study abroad will be on developing a better understanding of how owners, designers and constructors communicate and work together in the built environment. Undergraduate students interested in design and construction are the primary target group. Students will get perspectives of building infrastructure from numerous industries including, finance, architecture, engineering, construction, and maintenance. Because the environmental, physical, and emotional impacts resulting from the built environment are shared by all, this global impact subject supports a broad range of student interests. In addition, the cities we are visiting, Barcelona and Valencia are well known globally as centers for architecture, finance, and law. The opportunity to visit many of these cities and discuss their influence on our global infrastructure will be interesting to students in a variety of educational programs.
