The Purdue Polytechnic Richmond family mourns the loss of Wayne Barker. Mr. Barker was one of the originators of the first statewide technology programs at Richmond (then on the campus of Earlham College), and he founded the Purdue Mechanical Engineering Technology program in Elkhart.
With the addition of a Hawker 900XP full-motion, Level D flight simulator in Purdue Polytechnic’s School of Aviation and Transportation Technology, Purdue is becoming the only university in the nation to offer jet-type training integrated in a bachelor of science degree program.
