Guan wins prestigious award from Air Force Office of Scientific Research

Shanyue Guan, an assistant professor in Purdue Polytechnic’s Construction Management Technology program, has received the Air Force Office of Scientific Research’s award for members of its Young Investigator Program.

The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) Young Investigator Research Program (YIP) aims to foster creative basic research in science and engineering, enhance the early career development of outstanding young investigators, and increase opportunities for these researchers to recognize and address challenges related to the Air Force and Space Force missions.

The program targets scientists and engineers who have received their Ph.D. or equivalent degrees within the last seven years and show exceptional ability and promise for conducting basic research. Individual awards are granted to U.S. institutions where the principal investigator is employed full-time in a permanent position. Each award provides up to $150,000 per year for three years, totaling a maximum of $450,000.
