Darlene Russ-Eft
Darlene Russ-Eft, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus of Adult and Higher Education, College of Education, Oregon State University (OSU) and a clinical faculty member in the Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation at Purdue University. She is also a faculty member in the doctoral program in human resource development for the National Institute for Development Administration in Bangkok, Thailand. She received her BA from the College of Wooster and MA and PhD from University of Michigan in cognitive psychology. She worked as a Senior Research Scientist for the American Institutes for Research and later worked as the director of research for international training companies before joining OSU, where she has taught doctoral and masters’ courses to senior leaders and practitioners. Her research focuses on issues related to workplace education and learning, leadership development, and evaluation of human resource development interventions. Her most recent book is titled Managing Social Science Research (2017, Wiley). She is past president of the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD); past board member of the American Evaluation Association; past director of the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction (ibstpi), and past editor of Human Resource Development Quarterly. She has received recognition as elected to the HRD Scholar Hall of Fame and as a Fellow by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction.
