Transformation is providing high-impact, experiential learning

The transformation of the Purdue Polytechnic Institute’s undergraduate learning experience is built on 10 principles, and our departments/schools are all making great progress in changing the curricula necessary to implement the principles. I think it is important we remember the 10 principles were chosen based on evidence-based research.

Polytechnic graduate programs continue growth efforts

According to the Council of Graduate Schools, U.S. graduate school enrollment is a bit unstable at the moment, and has most recently been described as flat. Fortunately, that has not been the case at the Purdue Polytechnic Institute. While enrollments across Polytechnic departments are mixed, they have risen steadily since 2014 from 485 to a current enrollment of 585. The goal is to continue to increase this number, and to that end, recruiting and program enhancements have become of primary importance.

Our role in creating new high school experiences

One of the major activities being led by faculty and staff in the Purdue Polytechnic Institute is the creation of the Purdue Polytechnic High School in Indianapolis. Its mission? To provide a rich, integrated, learning environment by providing a hands-on, STEM-focused education which teaches students the skills and knowledge needed to be successful throughout their careers and paves the way toward admission to a post-secondary institution.
