Logistics experts from Purdue University and Ivy Tech Community College offered intensive logistics workshops at the 2014 Indiana Logistics Summit, which focused on helping businesses improve their workforce development and supply chain practices.
Student organization funds endowed scholarship
A student organization focused on computing has created an endowed scholarship fund to help its members for years to come.
The Association for Information Technology Professionals (AITP), a student organization in the College of Technology, recently set up the fund to offer additional assistance to members. Most of the funds came from AITP’s annual Computer Roundtable career fair.

Cole celebrates 90th birthday in class
Students at the Purdue College of Technology at Lafayette surprised their 90-year-old classmate, Jerry Cole, with a birthday party after a class tour at Subaru of Indiana Automotive Oct. 16.
After his Lean Manufacturing classmates sang to him, he proclaimed, "I wish we could stay in class together forever!" The celebration included a card and note from Purdue President Mitch Daniels.

Student helps renovate UN General Assembly
The world was watching as Craig Lewis worked toward a very strict building deadline during his 2014 summer internship with Skanska in New York City. Skanska was in charge of one part of the renovation of the United Nations General Assembly, and it needed to be done by the opening of the 69th session Sept. 16. And as if the convergence of world leaders to the job site was not stressful enough, Lewis had to deal with a sudden promotion halfway through the job.

South Bend one of three pilot locations for Purdue Polytechnic
Purdue's College of Technology at South Bend is one of three pilot sites this fall for the Purdue Polytechnic Initiative. Purdue Polytech is designed to provide students competency-based, interdisciplinary instruction.
