Christopher Swan

Chris began his career in aviation as the director of maintenance for Gunlock Trucking in Plymouth, Indiana. In 1982, he joined the United States Air Force and spent the next two years serving his country. After discharge in 1984, Chris and James Bowers (’81 alumnus) opened a fixed-base operation, Sierra Aviation, in Knox, Indiana. Sierra Aviation offered flight instruction, aircraft rental, charters, and aircraft maintenance services.

John Derucki

As a young man, John Derucki started working in his father-in- law’s engineering firm and discovered his future career path. His positive experience at the engineering firm reassured him the College of Technology at Purdue University was the best place for him. It wasn’t until he met Dr. Dorsey Moss that he knew building construction management would be his program of choice within the College of Technology.

Jack Calhoun

Jack Calhoun is senior advisor at McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm, where he works with clients in the areas of consumer products, apparel, fashion, and luxury.

Randal Sergesketter

For over 20 years, Randy Sergesketter has provided leadership at John Deere through a variety of positions during his impressive tenure with the company. He joined John Deere during his time at Purdue as a summer trainee in 1980 and worked as a floor supervisor at Harvester Works. After graduation, he returned to Harvester Works and progressed through a variety of manufacturing, engineering, and management positions. In addition, Randy has held management positions in four factories, three equipment divisions, and at the corporate headquarters.

Richard Price

Dick Price knew from a very young age that communications would be his career choice. His father was a radioman in the Navy during World War II. It was his father’s love for communications that led Dick to get involved with citizen band radios as a pre-teen. In a fifth-grade report describing career desires, Dick wrote that he wanted to go to Purdue and become an electrical engineer so that he could work with microwave communications equipment.

Rupert Evans

Rupert Evans has had a distinguished career as an educator. After completing two graduate degrees at Purdue, he joined the staff of the University of Illinois as an assistant professor of vocational and technical education in 1950. He moved through the ranks to professor before being named associate dean in 1961 and then dean of the College of Education in 1964. He served as a Fulbright lecturer in Japan, a consultant in 18 foreign countries, and as president of many professional organizations.
