Lieutenant Colonel John Jansta

Lt Col John Jansta is the Director of Staff, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 220, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN.  He is responsible for recruiting, training, motivating and counseling highly-qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers. Lt Col Jansta received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and was commissioned through ROTC in 2007.  He has a Master of Industrial Engineering degree from North Carolina State University.  He has two assignments as a F-15E Instructor Weapon Systems Officer. He deployed twice while stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC.  During his two year assignment in the United Kingdom, he was a Flight Commander and Chief of Nuclear Operations.  Lt Col Jansta was previously assigned at the Air Force’s Personnel Center, JBSA-Randolph, TX.  He managed assignments for 1100 F-15 fighter pilots and WSOs.  He also developed the newest Air Force assignment system, Talent Marketplace.  He has over 1,350 flight hours, including 500 combat hours.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Kathleen Le

Lt Col Kathleen H. Le is the Recruiting Officer, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 220, Purdue University, and serves as the AS100 instructor.  She is responsible for recruiting, developing, and mentoring highly qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers.  Lt Col Le is a 2008 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy.  She has a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology.  Lt Col Le is a Developmental Engineer and has had assignments as a Spacecraft Engineer at Los Angeles AFB, CA, Rocket Sled Engineer at Holloman AFB, NM and Flight Commander at the National Reconnaissance Office, Fort Belvoir, VA.  During her assignment at Holloman AFB, Lt Col Le deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Prior to her assignment to AFROTC, Lt Col Le was a branch chief at HQ United States Air Force, the Pentagon, where she led training and readiness programs for Total Force Airmen.

 

Major Michael Meoli

Major Michael T. Meoli is the Education Officer, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 220, Purdue University and serves as the AS300 instructor. He is responsible for recruiting, training, motivating and counseling highly-qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers.  Major Meoli commissioned through AFROTC at The Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s in Crime, Law, and Justice in 2010.  He has a master’s in Intelligence Studies from American Military University.  Major Meoli was a Space Operator at Schriever AFB, CO for the Milstar/AEHF constellation and was selected as a flight commander and chief instructor for the operations group.  In 2015, Major Meoli became an acquisitions officer at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH leading various projects for the F-22 Raptor program and foreign military sales for Europe, NATO, and Africa.  Prior to his assignment to AFROTC, he was the Sensitive Operations Branch Chief for the Office of Special Programs at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in Springfield, VA.  He transferred into the United States Space Force in 2021.

 

Captain Adam Willis

Captain Adam Willis is Operations Flight Commander, AFROTC Detachment 220, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN.  He is responsible for recruiting, developing, and mentoring highly qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers. He serves as the AS200 Instructor.  Captain Willis is a 2015 graduate of Purdue University. Upon commissioning through Air Force ROTC, he attended Undergraduate Space Training at Vandenberg AFB, CA.  Afterward, Captain Willis served as a Line Instructor for the 1st Space Operations Squadron Schriever AFB, CO, and was responsible for providing engineering support for the Geosynchronous Space Situation Awareness Program. Prior to assuming his current position, he was the OIC of Operations for the 3rd Space Operations Squadron.

 

Staff Sergeant Devin Shaw

Staff Sergeant Devin M. Shaw is the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Personnel, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 220, Purdue University, West Lafayette IN, and is responsible for recruiting, training, motivating and counseling highly-qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers.  He is responsible for commissioning, physical exams, categorization, and Field Training selection throughout the year for all Air Force cadets at Purdue University. Sergeant Shaw is from Beech Grove, IN and enlisted in the Air Force in July 2014. During his last assignment, Sergeant Shaw served as a Reenlistments and Extensions Supervisor at 55th Force Support Squadron, Offutt AFB, NE. In his last position he was assigned to the Commander Support Staff; 2nd Weather Support Squadron; 557th Weather Wing.

 

Staff Sergeant Cody Payne

Staff Sergeant Cody D. Payne is the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Administration & Information Management, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 220, Purdue University, West Lafayette IN, and is responsible for recruiting, training, motivating and counseling highly-qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers. He is responsible for commissioning, physical exams, categorization, and Field Training selection throughout the year for all Air Force cadets at Purdue University. Sergeant Payne is from Covington, IN and enlisted in the Air Force in May 2017. During his last assignment, Sergeant Payne served as Commander’s Executive Assistant at the 88th Communications Squadron, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.
