Lieutenant Colonel John Jansta

Lt Col John Jansta is the Director of Staff, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 220, Purdue University.  He is responsible for recruiting, training, motivating and counseling highly-qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers.  Lt Col Jansta received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and was commissioned through ROTC in 2007.  He has a Master of Industrial Engineering degree from North Carolina State University.  He has two assignments as a F-15E Instructor Weapon Systems Officer.  Lt Col Jansta deployed twice while stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC.  During his two-year assignment in the United Kingdom, he was a Flight Commander and Chief of Nuclear Operations.  Lt Col Jansta was previously assigned at the Air Force Personnel Center, JBSA-Randolph, TX.  He managed assignments for 1,100 F-15 fighter pilots and WSOs.  He also developed the newest Air Force assignment system, Talent Marketplace.  He has over 1,350 flight hours, including 500 combat hours.

 

Major Michael Meoli

Maj Michael Meoli is the Operations Flight Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 220, Purdue University and serves as the AS300 instructor.  He is responsible for recruiting, training, motivating and counseling highly-qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers.  Maj Meoli commissioned through ROTC at The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Crime, Law, and Justice in 2010.  He has a Master's degree in Intelligence Studies from American Military University.  Maj Meoli was a Space Operator at Schriever AFB, CO for the Milstar/AEHF constellation and was selected as a Flight Commander and Chief Instructor for the Operations Group.  In 2015, Maj Meoli became an Acquisitions Officer at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH and led various projects for the F-22 Raptor program, as well as, foreign military sales for Europe, NATO and Africa.  Prior to his assignment at Purdue, he was the Sensitive Operations Branch Chief for the Office of Special Programs at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in Springfield, VA.  He transferred into the United States Space Force in 2021.

 

Major Derek Rose

Maj Derek Rose is the Education Officer, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 220, Purdue University and serves as the AS200 instructor.  He is responsible for recruiting, training, motivating and counseling highly-qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers.  A graduate of Purdue University, he received his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in 2012.  Maj Rose is a senior pilot with more than 1,500 flying hours in the UH-1 Huey.  He was the Flight Commander of the Career Enlisted Aviator Rotary Wing Fundamentals Course, an Air Force Global Strike Command Intern, and a member of the Commander’s Action Group.  Prior to his current position, Maj Rose was selected as the Legislative Liaison to the Commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, where he authored written Congressional statements, coordinated meetings with members and staff, responded to Congressional requests for information and guided the Commander through Congressional Testimonies.

 

Major Jessica Franklin

Maj Jessica Franklin is the Recruiting Officer, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 220, Purdue University and serves as the AS100 instructor.  She is responsible for recruiting, training, motivating and counseling highly-qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers.  Maj Franklin graduated from Purdue University in 2012, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, before earning her commission through Officer Training School (OTS) in 2014.  As a 13M, she led an Airfield Operations Flight in providing Air Traffic Control and Airfield Management services at Vance AFB, OK.  After deploying as an Air Advisor, she served as Executive Officer to the Commander, Tyndall AFB, FL in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.  She subsequently was involved in the curriculum development and restructuring of the Airfield Operations career field.  Prior to her current position, she served as Aide-de-Camp to the Vice Chief of Staff, planning and executing all domestic and international travel, as well as, coordinating with multiple staffs across Congress, the Department of Defense and interagency teams to execute 4-Star intent.      

 

Staff Sergeant Devin Shaw

SSgt Devin Shaw is the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC), Personnel, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 220, Purdue University.  He is responsible for recruiting, training, motivating and counseling highly-qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers.  He is also responsible for commissioning tasks, physical fitness exams, categorization, and Field Training selection for all cadets throughout the year.  Sergeant Shaw is from Beech Grove, IN and enlisted in the Air Force in July 2014.  During his last assignment, he served as a Reenlistments and Extensions Supervisor, 55th Force Support Squadron, Offutt AFB, NE.  He was also assigned to the Commander Support Staff, 2d Weather Support Squadron, 557th Weather Wing.

 

Staff Sergeant Cody Payne

SSgt Cody Payne is the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC), Administration & Information Management, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 220, Purdue University.  He is responsible for recruiting, training, motivating and counseling highly-qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers.  He is also responsible for commissioning tasks, physical fitness exams, categorization, and Field Training selection for all cadets throughout the year.  Sergeant Payne is from Covington, IN and enlisted in the Air Force in May 2017.  During his last assignment, he served as Commander’s Executive Assistant, 88th Communications Squadron, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.
