U.S. Space Force

The U.S. Space Force is the newest service branch of the Department of Defense, established on December 20, 2019, under the Department of the Air Force. AFROTC provides cadets the opportunity to commission into the Space Force to the following career fields:



Purdue University is known as the "cradle of astronauts" since 27 Purdue alumni have flown in space. Purdue's exceptional engineering program and history of spaceflight garners a significant interest in the Space Force for our cadets. We have established a Space Force Squadron within our detachment comprised of cadets intending to pursue a career in the Space Force.
