Columbus classrooms are making the Polytechnic switch
The Columbus Republic highlighted changes in Austin Creasy’s mechanical engineering technology classrooms in its August 21 edition.
Creasy is incorporating many elements of the Polytechnic learning environment as the Purdue Polytechnic Institute location continues to transform with the rest of the college.

Advanced manufacturing program helps long-term unemployed
A new training program run by the Region 4 Workforce Board and Purdue Polytechnic Institute Lafayette, in collaboration with local manufacturers, is designed to prepare people who’ve been out of work for months for stable, assembly line positions.
The program, called Rapid Reemployment for Advanced Manufacturing Positions (RAMP), is funded by a $7.6 million, four-year grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.
Kaluf appointed K-12 STEM education director
Kevin Kaluf has been appointed as the K-12 STEM education director for the Purdue Polytechnic Institute.
Huntington appointed assistant dean for K-12 outreach
Brooke Huntington has been appointed as Purdue Polytechnic’s assistant dean for K-12 outreach, effective August 17.
Students represent Purdue at EAA AirVenture
Six Purdue aviation technology student ambassadors and three recruitment staff members have been representing the department at the weeklong EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The group has a booth in the exhibit hall and is talking with thousands of guests about Purdue aviation programs as well as recruiting prospective students.

Purdue Polytechnic New Albany partnered with Indiana University Southeast to provide a unique opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to build their business acumen. The week-long Entrepreneurship Academy at New Albany program introduced students to entrepreneurship and provided mentors from local business leaders and field experts.
