I love this stuff. I love working with my hands and being elbow deep in solvent, cleaning parts. It was what I was meant to do. The easiest explanation is I work on them and pilots fly them. I plan on being an airplane mechanic; I keep them running. They work you up the chain from your first year to getting an Airframe and Powerplant certification.

Karthik Sukumar splits his time between teaching, taking classes and completing his master’s thesis on spatial ability in athletes. It doesn’t leave much time for other activities or part-time jobs.
Which is why he is thankful for the funding he receives as a teaching assistant and the Sriver Graduate Scholarship in Computer Graphics Technology. “It is so important. I don't have to worry about the money aspect,” Sukumar said. “I can focus on what I came here to do.”
Knoy 366A is the college's new Research Hub, offering several resources for faculty working on research, both for research publications and sponsored research proposals. Edie Schmidt, interim associate dean for research, and three part-time staff members have been working to create a welcoming space where collaboration and curiosity are encouraged. Yogurt, pretzels, almonds and crackers are available as well as teas and coffee.
