Nearly 40 high school students and their families will attend the inaugural CLAIMiT workshop at the College of Technology Nov. 17.
CLAIMiT stands for Communicating Leadership and Advancing Innovation for Minorities in Technology. The experience, aimed at underrepresented minorities enrolled in Project Lead the Way high school classes, is based on a similar successful experience the college offers for high school women.
Six College of Technology faculty were Seed for Success honorees at Purdue’s Excellence in Research Awards dinner Nov. 14. These awards are given to principal investigators and co-principal investigators of projects that garnered $1 million or more in grants last year.

Years of conducting market and strategy studies in Europe and Boston gave Nathalie Duval-Couetil unique insight into what turns innovative ideas into successful business ventures.
Gary Bertoline, dean of the College of Technology, delivered these remarks (with assistance with faculty and students) during the Donor Appreciation Dinner this fall. Next year’s event is set for Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013.

Through December 9, the College of Technology Student Ambassadors will collect food donations for Food Finders Food Bank in Lafayette. Donations can be placed in collection barrels on each floor of Knoy Hall, fourth floor of Young Hall, and the atrium of Niswonger Hall.

Global Entrepreneurship Week activities at Purdue University Nov. 12-13 will feature a panel discussion of successful and aspiring entrepreneurs in an event sponsored by the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program.
Student Entrepreneurs and Beyond, a panel discussion of current and former Purdue students, will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 13) in Stewart Center, Room 206, in conjunction with entrepreneurship capstone classes. A networking reception will follow.
The College of Technology Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations is sponsoring a reception for alumni and prospective students just south of Nashville, Tenn., Friday, Nov. 16.
The free event will take place from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Mere Bulles Restaurant, 5201 Maryland Way, in Brentwood. It will include hors de oeuvres and two complimentary drink tickets.
