Data Analytics, Technologies and Applications

Data Analytics, Technologies and Applications Degree

Our digital lives consist of data and information. Industry and other organizations need to use that data and information to strengthen their decision-making processes, which means that they need information technology professionals who can enable, support and use data analytics and applications.

These analytics-enabled jobs create a need for information technology/computing professionals with the specialized knowledge required to enable and support data science and related applications. The Data Analytics, Technologies and Applications (DATA) major addresses the severe shortage of data information technology/computing professionals who can implement effective solutions in this analytics-driven space. Moreover, the DATA major can effectively prepare students for careers in which they understand and maximize data science insights or even support data collection and processing.

Students will:

ABET

The computer and information technology program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the commission’s general criteria and program criteria for Information Technology and similarly named computing programs.

After competing in a design competition here at Purdue in my sophomore year of high school, I knew this was my dream school. As a visual learner, I wanted more experience working with technology used in the industry than sitting in lectures and CIT offers me that. With wonderful faculty and advisors to help me with any questions I have, I couldn't have chosen a better college.
