Bryan Hubbard, Brad Benhart and Dawn Lamb attended the annual reception for alumni of building construction management, civil engineering and construction engineering and management in September. The Chicago event is sponsored by Walsh Construction and is a wonderful opportunity for BCM faculty to connect with industry and alumni.
In an effort to help prepare new BCM students for their first BCM Career Fair, Daphene Koch, associate professor of building construction management, and Dawn Lamb, student and industry outreach specialist, partnered to host a Mock Career Fair.
They conducted the event as part of the BCM 10001 (Introduction to Construction). More than half of the class is first-year students. Another 25 percent are students pursuing a BCM minor to complement their majors in interior design, computer graphics technology or mechanical engineering technology.
Thank you to the 114 companies that attended the Fall 2013 Building Construction Management Career Fair Sept. 27 in Mackey Arena. Over 500 students had the opportunity to interact with nearly 350 recruiters from the construction industry.
You can view the Fall Career Fair guide here.

The recent Building Construction Management Career Fair — one of two during the academic year — is where most BCM students make their connections for internships and jobs after graduation.
