Dr. Devon Pessler is a visiting assistant professor at Purdue University in the School of Engineering Technology within Purdue Polytechnic. A proud alumna of the School of Engineering Technology, Dr. Pessler holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology, an M.S. in Engineering Technology, and a Ph.D. in Technology. Her doctoral research focused on material selection for acoustic guitar soundboards, utilizing instrumental tap testing, three-point bending tests, and parameter identification.
During her graduate studies, Dr. Pessler served as a mechanical engineering consultant with Purdue's Technical Assistance Program (TAP 40). In this role, she collaborated with over 50 businesses across Indiana's manufacturing sector, primarily concentrating on product design through CAD modeling, material testing, and fostering partnerships between TAP clients and industry-specific vendors.
In her current teaching role, Dr. Pessler instructs MET 102: Production Design and Specifications and oversees lab sections for ENGT 182: Gateway to Engineering Technology. Additionally, she serves as a faculty advisor for Purdue's Society of Manufacturing Engineers Student Chapter.
