Ashley Habig is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Aeronautical Engineering Technology in the School of Aviation and Transportation Technology at Purdue University, West Lafayette. She is teaching at her alma mater, as she graduated from Purdue's Bachelor AET Program and Master Aviation and Aerospace Management programs in SATT. Her teaching focuses on aircraft materials, aviation maintenance practices, aircraft systems, manufacturing, and repair of aircraft structures. Her specialty is working with aircraft sheetmetal and she manages the AET sheetmetal lab. She is a certified FAA Airframe & Powerplant mechanic (A&P). She has industry experience working with component lifecycle management, turbine jet engines testing/ certification, aircraft disassembly/ recycling, and airline maintenance operation control. She is certified as a Lean Six Sigma green belt through Purdue Universities TLI program. Her research areas of interest include aircraft materials, sheetmetal practices, aviation education , Lean Six Sigma, and airline/ airport sustainability.
