John P. Young is Professor Emeritus in the School of Aviation and Transportation Technology at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Professor Young served as Secretary and President of the Board of Directors for the University Aviation Association (UAA).  He served on the Flight Education, Simulation, Graduate Education, By-Laws, and Professional Development Committees of UAA, as well as receiving several prestigious awards. This national/international professional organization represents over 100 accredited colleges and universities engaged in aviation education and research.

His teaching/scholarly interests included: aviation human factors, crew resource management, professional flight education, transport aircraft systems and operations, and design and delivery of aviation education/training.
