A Purdue staffer since 1990, John joined Purdue Polytechnic in March 2014 to serve as a communication specialist. As a member of the Office of Marketing Communications, John films and edits video projects, writes for our website, creates newsletters and fliers, and maintains social media, among other duties.
John worked in Engineering Computer Network‘s User & Desktop Services group as a site manager from August 2007 through March 2014, leading teams which provide centralized desktop computing support to the College of Engineering, Purdue Polytechnic (née College of Technology), Discovery Park, and the Office of the Vice President for Research. John also provided IT support to faculty and staff in Purdue’s College of Liberal Arts for 13 years and served as a user services programmer in the Purdue University Computing Center (PUCC), the predecessor to today's Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP). At both PUCC and Liberal Arts, John developed and taught dozens of workshops and wrote and edited newsletter articles and documentation.
John was selected to represent Purdue Polytechnic and the College of Engineering in APSAC (Purdue's Administrative & Professional Staff Advisory Committee) for a three-year term, starting June 2017.
For 10 years, John was a local radio broadcaster at four Crawfordsville-area stations. A viola and guitar player, John has been a liturgical musician at St.Thomas Aquinas Center in West Lafayette for more than 25 years.
