Mr. Matt Ray is currently an assistant professor of practice in the School of Construction Management Technology, Purdue Polytechnic Institute. He held positions as the Director of the Construction Management and Facilities Management Programs offered through the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. He holds degrees in Architectural Technology, Construction Management and Facilities Management. He has also earned IFMA’s Facility Management Professional (FMP) certification and BAMI-I’s CTAM certifications for asset management. Mr. Ray’s 30 plus years of industry experience include the design, engineering and management of single and multifamily construction and light commercial projects along with specializing as a design manager for building components manufacturing. As program director, Mr. Ray provided oversight and direction for curriculum development, student learning outcomes, and student engagement, along with building and maintaining industry partnerships. He currently provides instruction for Construction Cost Estimating, Scheduling and Project Controls, together with Facilities Planning and Management, Facilities Engineering Systems, Energy Management for Buildings, Quality Control and Financial Aspects of Facilities Management. Mr. Ray is also an active member of the Indianapolis Chapter of IFMA and serves on its education committee.
