Toni Munguia, Purdue Polytechnic’s director of recruitment, retention and diversity, was named a recipient of the 2022 Special Boilermaker Award for her dedication to Purdue.

Established in 1981, the award honors Purdue faculty and staff members who have contributed significantly to improving the quality of life and/or the betterment of the educational experience for a substantial number of Purdue students.

Munguia’s nominators wrote, “She constantly looks for ways to do more for students — ways to improve student success; enroll and retain more female and underrepresented students; and improve diversity, equity and belonging in the college.”

“I feel like I make a difference,” said Munguia earlier this year in an episode of Techies Today, the Purdue Polytechnic Podcast. ”I love what I do. I love the students and making a difference in their lives. I am a Boilermaker, and I love Purdue.”
