Our Mission

 

Elnara Mammadova

The Polytechnic Graduate Students Organization (PGSO) has been established to enhance the community spirit and reinforce a sense of belonging among graduate students. PGSO aims to bridge connections between students, faculty, and administration through a diverse range of events and workshops, fostering a collaborative and supportive academic environment.

At PGSO, we endeavor to enrich the academic experience of all graduate students by hosting events, workshops, and seminars. Through these initiatives, PGSO aims to create a collaborative environment that supports students in enhancing their academic performance. We aspire to create an environment that promotes academic excellence, community engagement, and professional and personal growth for all graduate students at Purdue Polytechnic College.

Our commitment is extended to guiding students towards valuable resources offered by the Purdue Graduate Student Government, ensuring access to grants and support services that enhance the overall graduate student experience.

Elnara Mammadova

Elnara Mammadova – President (pgsopres@purdue.edu)
Elnara is a PhD student in Technology, Leadership, and Innovation at Polytechnic. Her research is centered on advancing inclusivity for undergraduate students with disabilities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education by developing curriculum and lesson plans. Her objective is to establish a data-driven proactive approach to improve the digital accessibility of STEM courses. Previously, Elnara worked as a special educator and advocated for disability rights, which she still does. She likes hiking, swimming, hanging out with friends, and sharing stories about her cat. Meow!
Khalil Breidi

Khalil El Breidi – Vice President (pgsovp@purdue.edu)
Khalil is a Ph.D. student in Computer Information Technology at Purdue University. He holds dual B.S. degrees, an MBA, and an M.S. in Business Analytics. With over 17 years in the Supply Chain and Logistics Industry, he's adept in managerial and data-driven strategies. As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certified, he's an expert in process improvement and efficiency. His research delves into AI and IoT in SMEs, targeting high-tech sector innovations.
Drew Bennett

Drew Bennett – Treasurer (pgsotrea@purdue.edu
Drew is from Northwest Indiana currently working towards an M.S. in Engineering Technology with a focus on renewable energy. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Drew also works in University Residences as a Residence Education Assistant supporting students living on campus.
Jia Lin Cheoh

Jia Lin Cheo - Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Officer (pgsodie@purdue.edu
Jia Lin Cheoh is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer and Information Technology and serves as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) chair at the Purdue Graduate Student Government. She enjoys connecting with new people over coffee and is always eager to find team members to support inclusion efforts. Recently, she joined Toastmasters to further her passion for public speaking. Jia values teamwork and warmly invites anyone interested in contributing to DEI initiatives to reach out.
 Jahid Hassan

Jahid Hassan - Event Organizing Officer (pgsoeo@purdue.edu)
Jahid Hasan is Ph.D. student of Computer and Information Technology Department at Purdue University. He has completed his B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. As a research assistant, he is working for Responsible Data Science Lab. His research area includes Fairness of Data-Driven decision systems.
Patrick Chuang

Patrick Chuang - Social Media and Communication Officer (pgsoco@purdue.edu)
Patrick Chuang is a direct Ph.D. student of the Technology Department at Purdue Polytechnic Institute. His research focuses on advanced film material manufacturing and application on electronic/neuromorphic devices (e.g. TFT, Memristor). Most of his free time was spent on music. He plays piano and cello.

Events

We host several social events to give our graduate student members the chance to network with their colleagues and boost their energy to keep up the good work and research throughout the semester. Several activities include Bowling events, Coffee and Bagels, treat booths, and more!
