Melissa (Missy) Casner is an Assistant Professor of Practice of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University | Purdue Polytechnic Institute Columbus campus. She teaches required computer information technology undergraduate courses.
Professor Casner's educational interests include online and hybrid education, systems analysis and design, data automation, and business intelligence. Her clinical focus is on women in information technology positions and online and hybrid instruction, data automation, and business intelligence. She has consulted on a plethora of projects with for-profit and nonprofit industries.
Professor Casner received an A.S. in Computer and Information Technology from Purdue University and a B.S. in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University. She received a M.S. in Human Resource Development and Adult Distance Learning from Indiana State University.
Before joining Purdue University full-time in August of 2022, Professor Casner was a part-time adjunct professor since January of 2000 for Purdue University | Purdue Polytechnic Institute Columbus campus and Anderson campus of Computer and Information Technology and Technical Leadership and Innovation, where she taught many undergraduate courses for both degree programs. She was also the full-time Database Administrator for the American Camp Association since August of 2008.
