Students in the online graduate certificate program will experience Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) through a policy-based and technological lens, gaining a deep understanding of current UAS and airspace integration laws, including preparation to earn the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate. They will design data acquisition missions, select appropriate sensors, and process and interpret aerial data using modern GIS platforms. For students who are more interested in a master's program, we offer a fully online master's degree in Aviation and Aerospace Management. Three courses are required for the certificate program (9 credit hours), all of which may be credited to the existing Master of Science in Aviation and Aerospace Management online degree program in the event that the student opts to continue in the master's degree program.
