Applied and Creative Computing Research
The School of Applied and Creative Computing at Purdue Polytechnic advances research in applied artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, animation and games, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), data visualization and analysis, user experience (UX), cloud computing, digital media design, and supply chain management. As one of the pillars of Purdue Computes, the school plays a central role in advancing the university’s strategic vision in AI, computing, and data-driven innovation. Faculty and students pursue research that develops responsible AI applications, enhances immersive technologies, strengthens digital infrastructures, and supports industry-driven solutions. In FY25, the school secured approximately $6 million in research awards, demonstrating the depth, breadth, and competitiveness of its research enterprise. Through interdisciplinary labs and centers, the school fosters projects that integrate computing, design, and applied AI to prepare graduates for future-forward careers.
