Kyle Potter
Kyle Potter is the Director of Preconstruction and Design at Thompson Thrift Development, where he leads multi-disciplined teams responsible for planning and executing large-scale residential and mixed-use designs across the Western United States. A proud Purdue University graduate, Kyle credits his Boilermaker education with instilling technical discipline, accountability, and a problem-solving mindset that have defined his career. Today, he oversees projects from early due diligence through contracting - aligning design intent, municipal requirements, and construction economics to deliver project certainty.
Over the past decade, Kyle has contributed to the planning and delivery of more than two dozen large-scale developments totaling several billion dollars in project value. His early career was spent with national general contractors, where he worked on office, retail, high-density multifamily, and critical public infrastructure projects-building a strong foundation in field operations, cost control, and execution. He later transitioned to the owner and developer side, where his experience now informs a pragmatic, constructability-driven approach to preconstruction and design leadership across a diverse portfolio of Class A multifamily and mixed-use communities.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Kyle stays connected to Purdue University through the Construction Advisory Council, John Purdue Club, and service as the Alumni Advisor of the Purdue Chapter of Delta Chi. Professionally, he is recognized for steady leadership, clear decision-making, and a pragmatic approach to complex design challenges. His work emphasizes early coordination, constructability, and cost control measures to ensure project success.
