What made you decide to choose your specific major?
I chose the Polytechnic Institute because it gives me real, industry-focused experience. Learning from professors who've actually worked in the aviation industry has shaped how I approach my classes and my career. That foundation has shown up in my internship process, where my skills and preparation have really come through.
What are a couple of your favorite things about your program of study?
My program is really flexible. After the intro classes, you can choose the pathway and concentration that fit your goals. I've been able to do that through the Degree+ program and the Office of Globalization, which has helped me shape my degree in a way that makes sense for me.
What has been on of your favorite class projects?
In AT 25200: Aviation Projects, I completed an honors research project on reduced crew models in today's commercial aviation environment. It was my first real exposure to research, and I loved getting to dive deep into a topic I care about while working with a professor who really understands the research process.
What other activities are you involved in on campus?
Outside of Polytechnic Ambassadors, I'm a member of the Purduettes within Purdue Musical Organizations, where I currently serve as Head of Philanthropy. I also work as a student dispatcher for the Purdue flight program.
What do you know about your program of study now that you wish someone had told you when you were choosing a major?
Aviation Management opens so many doors. You build a foundation that applies to almost any part of the industry, and the hardest part is choosing which direction to take.
What would be one piece of advice for prospective students or new Purdue students?
Being uncomfortable is part of the process. Everyone hits a barrier at some point, whether it's time management, networking, or staying disciplined with schoolwork. What matters is pushing past that moment instead of letting it limit you. That's where you grow, and that's how you reach your potential.
