Capstone day in Indianapolis showcases student innovation

On May 1 and 2, Purdue Polytechnic students in Indianapolis presented a wide range of senior capstone projects developed over the course of their final year.

The two-day event, held across multiple locations on the new Purdue University in Indianapolis expansion, highlighted applied research, technical solutions and design innovations from students across the programs offered by Purdue Polytechnic in Indianapolis.

Students shared projects through presentations and demonstrations that addressed real-world problems through creative and practical approaches. From healthcare technology and cybersecurity to mechanical systems and interior architecture, the event offered an expansive look at the diverse work Polytechnic students had accomplished.

Capstone day began Thursday, May 1, with student presentations in Healthcare Engineering Technology Management, held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the ET Building, Room 103.

Friday, May 2, featured multiple concurrent events across campus:

  • Computer Graphics Technology, Computer & Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Interior Architecture students hosted a poster session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Tower Ballroom. Water and coffee were provided for attendees.
  • Construction Management Technology students presented posters in Hine Hall, Room 231, from 9:00 AM to 12:45 PM. The session also included food and opportunities for networking.
  • Electrical Engineering Technology students gave formal presentations starting at 9:00 AM in ET Building Rooms 302/304 and the Atrium, followed by a joint poster session with Mechanical Engineering Technology students at 10:00 AM in the same location.

Faculty, staff and industry guests were invited to explore the variety of student work on display, offering a fitting celebration of innovation at the end of the academic year.
