Webster receives national engineering education award from ASEE

Rustin Webster received the 2026 Frederick J. Berger Award from the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).

Webster serves as an associate professor in the School of Engineering Technology at Purdue Polytechnic New Albany. The professional society presented the award during its Annual Conference and Exposition in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Frederick J. Berger Award recognizes distinguished accomplishments in engineering education. ASEE President Christi Patton Luks formally recognized Webster during the organization's annual awards luncheon on June 24.

A selection committee chose Webster for the national honor based on a peer nomination and professional references.

Webster maintained a highly active presence at the 2026 conference. He co-authored four peer-reviewed papers accepted for presentation during the multi-day event. His recent research examines national trends in engineering capstone programs, student academic preparedness, and practical strategies for teaching complex measurement concepts.
