Fay is currently a Senior Lecturer in Purdue University’s School of Engineering Technology – Purdue Statewide in Anderson, Indiana.
Before coming to Purdue Fay was employed with General Motors, (GM). During a 19-year career with GM, she supported numerous manufacturing facilities in the capacities of industrial and manufacturing engineering. Fay assisted in productivity improvements for automated assembly systems and was a certified engineering recruiter for GM component divisions. Upon returning from graduate studies, Fay was a market analyst, component account manager servicing the midsize car and truck divisions of GM and a generator product marketing manager.
Fay’s additional professional experiences include business undergraduate and graduate instructor with Indiana Wesleyan University, mathematics and first year seminar instructor with Ivy Tech Community College and small business incubator participant. Indianapolis Entrepreneurship Academy Alumni. She been a panelist with the Purdue Women in Engineering workshops, a past marketing advisor with Junior Achievement, and profiled in the publication “Journeys of Women in Science and Engineering: No Universal Constants”-Temple University Press. Fay is a board member with Purdue Black Alumni Organization, (PBAO).
In the community, Fay has been a committee member on the “Quality of Life Fund” for the city of Anderson, Indiana, is a member of the Madison County Women in Philanthropy Century Club, a former instructor with the “Step Up” algebra grant program from the Ball Foundation. Fay was the 2014 recipient of the Education award from the Madison County Black Chamber of Commerce. She is a facilitator with the Anderson Advanced Manufacturing Program. Fay is the 2021 recipient of The Polytechnic Institute's Faculty Equity, Inclusion and Advocacy award, and is Purdue's 2022 Multiplying Good Jefferson Award overall recipient.
