James Hamilton is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Purdue University in Indianapolis. His teaching focuses on applied engineering topics, hands-on problem solving, and helping students connect classroom concepts to real industrial practice. Before joining Purdue, Hamilton spent much of his career in community college education, where he developed a strong appreciation for accessible, practical, student-centered teaching. He continues to bring that perspective into his work with transfer students, industry partners, and future engineering technology professionals.
