Dr. Oh completed his Ph.D. with a focus on Construction Management in the School of Building Construction and his M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Hanyang University, South Korea. Before pursuing graduate studies, he worked at Midas IT, a global company specializing in CAD and CAE software development for the AEC industry.
His lab, Smart and Sustainable Workforce and Infrastructure Data-driven Evolution (S2-WIDE) in construction, aims to revolutionize the construction industry by integrating smart technologies and sustainable practices into workforce management and infrastructure development. By leveraging data-driven frameworks, the lab strives to create innovative solutions that transform construction processes, bridging the gap between advanced automation and human-centered methodologies. The ultimate goal is to foster a future where smart systems, sustainability, and efficient data usage shape the evolution of the construction industry.
In addition to research, Dr. Oh believes that our work and research should contribute to the betterment of future generations. He is deeply committed to teaching and mentoring the next generation of construction professionals. His teaching philosophy centers around fostering curiosity, encouraging hands-on learning, and developing data-driven problem-solving skills. He believes that better students lead to a better future for human society, and his goal is to help students excel not only in the technical aspects of construction but also to grow as thoughtful leaders and innovators.
