Richard D. Kopp is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Graphics Technology for Purdue Polytechnic at New Albany. He earned a B.A. in Fine Arts from Indiana University - Southeast and a M.F.A. from the University of Delaware. Prior to joining the faculty Richard worked as a publishing manager, assistant art director, and computer graphics artist. His current interests are in digital illustration, video production and entrepreneurship. Professor Kopp began teaching for Purdue in 1994.
In 2015 Richard opened The STEAM Gallery at Purdue New Albany. Exhibits by the Computer Graphics Technology students and by both regional and international professionals are displayed each fall and spring. Past exhibits include prints, photographs, video, and animation.

In 2013 he became a board member and web master for the Vintage Fire Museum in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
In 2010 he became a board member for the Arts Council of Southern Indiana, New Albany, Indiana and from 2011-2013 he was their communications officer. Richard still remains active with the arts council.
