Dr. Salem is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University. Dr. Salem earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Kentucky (2019). He obtained his master’s degree in Computer Science from IUPUI, funded by the Fulbright scholarship. His research interests are in computer vision, data science, and machine learning. He focuses on designing and developing automated methods and systems for processing large-scale data collections. His current focus is on developing learning-based models to analyze the publicly available images on the Internet to improve our understanding of the world. Dr. Salem has taught different courses across the wide spectrum of Computer Science and Information Technology including computer programming and machine learning.
