Visual Effects Lab

Producing educational video content with Hollywood-like production value is  possible without leaving Purdue’s West Lafayette campus. With the  installation of a new high-quality visual effects system in Knoy Hall’s Visual Effects Lab, Purdue became the first educational institution in the country to acquire a LightCraft Previzion System.

Using computer-generated images, high-grade cameras, sensors, and coded ceiling-mounted location-reference targets, the system records video of live subjects while incorporating virtual backgrounds and stationary or moving images, characters, and 3-D objects.
